g (larger view) We introduced the Cobra line as the 4th generation design, featuring more body accents at the horns and improved weight distribution. We are excited about the overall weight just under 7.5 pounds. Initial concerns about the stress on the neck joint were soon dissolved after playing on stage for 2 weeks.

Using Bartolini's Jazz pickups along with the Bartolini Active Pre-Amp #NTBTG With Kit 2 electronics module gave the Cobra a very rich tone with lots of user control.
We toppd off the look with Abalone inlay metal knobs which brings out the rich look that is part of the design for the Cobra.

This model was finished with a transparent orange with 30% color added to the first two coats of lacquer. Using Paduak for the top accent the light orange stain complemented the wood without glaring or overpowering from the orange color.

We are excited about this new line of Bass Guitars because the light weight makes this guitar accessible to both men and women and you won't get tired on long playing sessions

Pick one up and see for yourself, but hurry, stock is limited. Or you can special order and customize your special version of the Cobra.
g (larger view) The Fender Stratocaster AKA "Strat" is an icon of the musical instrument industry. The Stratocaster was first introduced in early 1954. The Strat's double cut ash body design was based on the Fender precision bass and features an semi- symmetrical double cut contoured body. The pick guard actually followed the contours of the guitar rather which resulted in a new look for Fender. CBS purchased Fender in the mid 60's and as a result hard core collectors often prefer "Pre-CBS" stratocasters. The vulnerable stratocaster is still in production and as popular as ever with over 1 million guitars produced since it's introduction. I've photographed a number of great stratocasters over the years. Believe it or not I actually prefer heavily used well worn stratocasters, they seem to have more character and you can almost hear the stores they have to tell.
g (larger view) The Telecaster has been around since 1951 and has been a favorite of many musicians. The Telecaster features two pickups, great sustain and is popular with many country artists. Major changes to the Telecaster included the addition of a Rosewood fingerboard and 8 screw pick guard in 1959. In 1965 Fender added the large "F" Fender Logo to the neck plate. These are highly popular guitars and a favorite of mine to photograph.

The "Sunburst" is the first generation guitar that is similar to the Telecaster, however we didn't like the radical bottom horn and the large upper horn. Our bottom horn is just big enough to sit comfortably on your leg when playing sitting down without movement during play. The upper horn is also smaller in radius which gives a more lean look.

The head stock has a genteler look and has an inline tuner set as aposed to the 3x3 look of the Gibson heads. This keeps some of the look of the Telecaster, but with a leaner look.

How does it play? All we can say is that all of those who have played the guitar realy like what they hear.

This is one model that is slated for the O-Scope analysis workbench to test both the frequence response of the pickups and just how good it compairs to the other guitars here at Rincon Ridge.
